Flight
For those flying in, the largest and closest airport is Bangor International Airport (BGR), located about an hour's drive from Southwest Harbor. We highly recommend renting a car, as public transportation in the area is very limited. Rental cars are available at the airport, making it the easiest and most convenient way to reach Southwest Harbor and explore the surrounding area.
Flight
Hancock County–Bar Harbor Airport (BHB) is a small regional airport located just 25 minutes from Southwest Harbor. While it offers limited flight options, it can be a convenient choice for travelers flying in from select cities, primarily through connections via Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). Rental cars and taxi services are available, though we still recommend reserving transportation in advance to ensure a smooth trip.

The inn has 8–9 rooms blocked from June 4th–7th. The Drydock Inn is located in the center of town above Café Drydock and is a really cute stay. Some rooms, like #1 “Cadillac” and #10 “Flying Mt.”, have two bedrooms and require a 3-night minimum stay. Rates range from $175 to $320 per night, and rooms will be held until March 10th, but we recommend booking by February 28th to secure your stay.
