We first met at a party at UChicago. That night, I had initially planned to stay in and was dressed in my pajamas when my teammates unexpectedly called, announcing they would be taking me from my apartment in 30 minutes, regardless of my attire, to take me to the party. Meanwhile, Zack and his friends were gearing up for a night of clubbing but decided to make a brief stop at the party first. Shortly upon arriving to the party, I may or may not have been stealing glances in Zack’s direction, and vice versa. Our eyes seemed to meet repeatedly, and I confess I wondered if he was possibly interested or maybe a tad perplexed by my discreet glances. With two of his teammates dating two of mine, Zack decided to reach out to one of them to find out if I was available. Simultaneously I was sharing the details with my friends about the guy I found cute- the tall one in a black shirt wearing a chain. At some point, Zack left to catch an Uber with his friends but at the last minute had a change of heart. He apologized to his buddies, turned around, and headed back to the party because, in his words, “there was something about this girl.” While deciding on whether to rejoin, Zack spoke to his good friend Bobak, who convinced him to stay because after all you never know when you’ll meet the one. And as the saying goes, the rest is history.
