Zack and Anna met in a 550+ person lecture hall in Biology 101, freshman year of college. Ask anyone how they met and Anna's eyes will light up as she describes that fateful day when, arriving to the huge lecture hall early on the first day, she looked around the room and saw this "cute guy" standing in the middle of an otherwise empty row of chairs. For some reason, she decided to march right up next to him and sit down not one or two chairs away, but RIGHT next to him. Andddd immediately regretted her decision. After this awkward start, things got better when the professor told everyone to introduce themselves to neighbors. Zack and Anna had to work together to fill out a worksheet and Zack seemed like he chatted with Anna throughout the lecture way more than would be ordinary for small talk. But then again, maybe he was just a really cute nerd. Over the next few weeks, Anna would see Zack from afar in the classroom, but didn't get to talk with him again until he passed by her when leaving the class and said "Well hello, Anna." Embarrassingly, Anna could not remember his name and called him something like "Josh." And yes, he did give her a hard time about that. But because of that worksheet they had done together, Anna was able to search her memory and visualize his handwriting on that piece of paper, eventually remembering the correct name. Zack and Anna would walk back in the direction of the dorms together many times after that, talking and laughing and having a grand old time. When Anna wanted to form a study group, she asked Zack for his phone number "just to add you to the study group." And that was how, one fateful evening, she managed to get up the courage to ask Zack to lunch before lecture one day, texting him before he left on a long vacation. She just wanted to know if he was just really nice or if he liked her! (Yes, there is a video of Anna freaking out right before sending that text. Yes, we will play it at the wedding, 6 years later.) And so, Zack and Anna went on their first date, which was a lunch of pho followed by boba and a game of Jenga. This date lasted 4 hours, and the second lasted 8. Neither of them wanted to say goodbye, and they still can't get enough of each other to this day. Their love has lasted for 6 years and they are thrilled to embark on that longest date ever, marriage. Zack proposed to Anna on a beautiful hidden cove on Orcas Island on September 14, 2024, and she said yes before he could even finish the question. Good thing he wasn't asking her if she forgot the camping tent. Zack and Anna are thrilled to share their special day -- the start of their forever -- with you this September 2025.
