Since they both love drinking "white girl" coffee and talking about the Bible, that's how the two of them became friends. Apparently, Zoe shared some interesting takes on predestination in their church's young adults' group and Zach wanted to learn more. He decided to invite her out to coffee to discuss her views, and she accepted. Since then, they haven't stopped going on coffee dates and talking about God. Some like to say it was predestined.
