Rosa Parks Circle Ice Skating Rink
The weather's here, why not throw on some skates and head down to Rosa Parks Circle? Sarah and Zach have gone for a romantic (and needless to say, slippery!) skate on multiple occasions and recommend it not only for a fun afternoon or night, but it'll also put you in proximity to almost all of what downtown GR has to offer.
BREWERIES!
They call it Beer City, USA, and no wonder! Grand Rapids is home to over 80 craft breweries, ranging from the traditional and classic, to the experimental and extraordinary. Zach's love for craft beer runs deep and this may just be one of the best cities in the nation for it. Some favorites include City Built, Arvon, Creston, Speciation and Greyline.
Museums Anyone?
Being the grand city that it is, Grand Rapids has tons of museums exploring everything from natural history, to dinosaurs, modern art and more. Take a ride on the carousel overlooking the gorgeous grand river.
The Ruse Escape Rooms
Think you've got what it takes to break out of an aesthetically immersive escape room? Get a crew together and race the clock to see if you and your friends have what it takes to solve puzzles, think outside of the box, and crack the code to break free. Tons of coupons and only takes an hour!
Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park
The gardens are unavailable this time of year. However, the Christmas and holiday traditions exhibition honors cultures and holiday traditions from around the world—has grown to 46 unique displays depicting fact and folklore, past and present.
The Pyramid Scheme
A laid-back bar with a kitschy vibe, featuring pinball machines & a live rock venue in back. This is one of our go-to spots for a night out in the city.

Grand Rapids Art Museum: The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited
Organized by the Museum of the Moving Image, the exhibition reveals how Henson and his team of designers, writers, technicians, and performers brought to life the enduringly popular worlds of The Muppet Show, the Muppet movies, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and much more. It also includes material from Henson’s experimental film projects and his early work, which highlights his relentless creativity as a performer, filmmaker, and technical innovator. I mean who doesn't love the movie The Muppet Christmas Carol!
