We met in homeroom on the first day of our Freshman year of high school. His last name, starting with "Cr," and mine, starting with "Da," meant that he sat right in front of me. Little did I know, we were both honor students and athletes. At Central High School, this meant that we basically had the same classes together because our class size was so small. All throughout Freshman year, I tried to be his friend because we had to sit beside each other in most of our classes. Whether it was shyness or lack of interest, Zach didn't want any other interaction with me other than handing back papers. But I had a plan. With my persistence and Zach's stubbornness, it took me over a year to be his bud. I gained his friendship by picking up a new sport, becoming friends with his best friend first, baking him a cookie brownie that I sifted nuts out of on his birthday (even though he didn't eat it), and letting him copy my math homework. He said I was his Hero (for doing his homework), but I corrected him and said I would be a Heroine because I'm a lady. And that sparked a months long debate about if women were Heroes or Heroines (that was never settled) and I had him hooked. We started dating on May 5, 2014 during the end of our Sophomore year, and the rest is history!
