Who would have thought that during a pandemic we would meet and fall in love with each other, but that is exactly what happened. Thanks to Kelly, Kenny & Laurie for inviting us to Fourth of July party, my favorite holiday by the way. At the party I played volleyball and Zach was playing cornhole. He heard my laugh, squeak squeak and Kenny commented now there is a girl for you. He noticed me and we chatted a little in passing, however it was not enough yet for sparks. Zach left the party and I sat with Laurie, Kelly & Kenny by the fire. Laurie started texting Zach, but it wasn't until Kenny finally said Michelle what is your number that really kicked things into gear. Zach was a gentleman asking me to grab coffee the following week on July 11th. We met at the Beehive Cafe. He was chatting about his family and how important his friend group is especially Kenny, Ian & Neil all his brothers. The way he talked about family and friends spoke volumes to me. He has great values, morals and could make me laugh. The coffee date went so well it turned into a dinner date. We both "secretly" texted Laurie, Kelly & Kenny saying how things were going very well. At the end of the night, he gave me a hug goodbye and it showed me so much respect. I knew he was a good man. From that first date, we continued talking daily until he finally asked me to be his girl officially on September 6th. I was nervous with being a mom and how Kendra would take to him; and how to go about things since being a single mom for so long. Kendra was 7 years old, but I did not have to worry about these two, they hit it off just as him and I did. After he moved in it took some adjusting and sharing mommy was the hardest part, but we made it work. Before we knew it, group hugs were our every night routine and something we all looked forward to. On November 16, 2023 I was not feeling well, doing laundry, making dinner and helping Kendra with her homework when Zach came home with Ian. I was running around like a nut of course and chatted with them while putting things away. Until Zach said this is the moment and got down on a knee. I first squeaked and had to brace myself. I was so focused on Zach and Kendra on the bookshelf, I forgot Ian was there. Zach made a beautiful speech, and I said yes before he could even take the ring out. Once he did, I couldn't believe my eyes. Such a beautiful ring so unique, a blue diamond with six diamonds on each side. All of a sudden, Ian said my name and he was videotaping it. I was speechless, (yes for the time in my life, lol). It was not till later on I found out not only did Zach ask my dad, but he had asked Kendra too! Since the proposal, to see Kendra and Zach's bond grow has been so beautiful to watch. The three of us have gone to wedding expos and began planning out the details for this very special day. We are so excited to share this day with you all!!
