Mackenzie and Zach met the modern way—on Hinge—when Zach opened with a joke about the bar for standards being on the floor, so he was confident he could reach it. One week later he asked Mackenzie on their first date at a dive bar to play pool… which was an interesting choice considering she had never played before (and it showed). Despite the questionable pool performance, the two were inseparable from that night on. In fact, Zach’s best friend said he knew Mackenzie was the one after their first date—especially after she confidently made a joke about women being bad drivers. Zach wasn’t always the biggest fan of admitting they met on a dating app, though, so he started telling people they met at Target instead. But wherever the story begins, it all led to November 1st—the official start of the Christmas season—when Zach proposed at home with their dogs wearing custom bandanas that said “Will you marry me?” Mackenzie said yes (obviously), and now they’re counting down the days until they can celebrate the next chapter together.
