We first met in 2017 at Eva’s, the little ice cream shop in Oxford, MI. Zach drove an hour just to make it easier for Hannah (a sign of his dedication early on). We kept in touch here and there, but nothing serious—just small moments that kept us connected. A year later, we ended up back at the same ice cream shop. A few weeks after that, Zach texted Hannah with a not-so-typical proposal: he bailed on his prom date, and he wanted her to go with him instead. At the time, Zach was a senior and Hannah a junior. She was nervous—after all, they had only met twice, and the idea of showing up to a dance with strangers was intimidating. But thanks to Hannah’s mom insisting she go and have fun, she said yes. That one “yes” turned out to be the best decision she ever made. From that night on, we’ve been inseparable. We’ve lived in different towns, gone to different schools, even spent time in different states, but no matter the distance or stage of life, we’ve grown together. We’ve been each other’s constant through all the changes from our teenage years to now adulthood. In the eight years we’ve been together, through every challenge and every milestone, we’ve never fallen out of love—not once. If anything, our love has only grown stronger.
