Saturday, December 8th started out like any other day. Zach was off to work and I was headed into the city with my friend Taylor to explore the capitol of Austin. Taylor is a fourth grade teacher and reached out to me earlier in the week to help her take pictures of the capitol for her history lesson. I was eager to help out and explore the capitol grounds. Taylor and I arrived at the capitol around 11:30 that morning. We strolled around for a few minutes while I admired the architecture, but that didn't last long as Taylor began ushering me to follow her to a certain spot. At the time I figured she was just excited! A few moments later we reached a gorgeous garden right in the front of the capitol and Taylor told me to turn around so she could take my picture. I obliged and struck a pose. The next thing I knew I heard someone behind me whisper my name. I turned around and saw Zach on one knee. The next few moments were a complete blur. I was in total shock! After many moments of shocked silence, and a flood of emotions, I was finally able to mutter, yes! The next surprise came when I turned to face Taylor and saw my Mom standing next to her! The surprises didn't stop there! Tears were streaming down my face as my dad made his way out from behind the bushes where he was taking pictures. I was a complete puddle of emotions, but it meant the world to me that they were able to share that moment with us. It was everything I could have asked for and we can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together!
