If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, and want to try some local spots, our go to area of town is Winter Park. A 30 minute from East on i4 from the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, you'll find a never-ending list of delicious restaurants, cozy bars, plenty of storefronts, and even the Winter Park Boat Tour (incredibly beautiful). Our favorite spots to try would be Ravenous Pig, Hillstone, The Imperial (where antique shopping meets beer & wine), Prato, and Wine Room. If you're looking for the best brunch spot in town, try out The Briar Patch. We suggest parking on or right off of Park Avenue and meandering, as this district is very walkable.
Downtown Orlando is where you realize our city is NOT just theme parks! Here you can take a stroll around Lake Eola, and duck into some delicious restaurants and bars. On Sundays, they hold a Farmers Market with all types of food trucks and vendors. For dining, we recommend Soco or The Stubborn Mule. If you're looking for some nightlife, you won't be disappointed with the dozens of options.
The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is a five minute drive from the Walt Disney World Resort property, including Disney Springs! The four theme parks do require a park reservation and theme park ticket for access. However, Disney Springs does not, and has tons of shopping, dining, and night life options. But... we are biased and do love a trip around the world at Epcot...
For more of an adrenaline rush, where you'll find plenty of rollercoasters and thrills, check out Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure! These theme parks are about a 20 minute drive east on i4 from the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort.
If you're looking to get some coastal air and have some extra time, check out our favorite beaches on either the East or West coast! New Smyrna Beach is our favorite East coast option, and is about a 45 minute drive from Orlando. If you're looking for crystal blue Gulf waters and powder sands, check out St. Pete Beach or Clearwater Beach, a little south of Tampa, Florida. These are bit more of a drive though; around 2 hours.
