Dorothy and Kristy met at in college before studying abroad in Australia together. They've been close friends ever since and lived together for 5 years in Pittsburgh.

Emily is one of Kristy's oldest and dearest friends, having grown up in Syracuse together. Emily spent many 4th of July weeks on Keuka Lake with Kristy and her family at her grandparent's cottage.

After meeting in freshman year biology class, "the Kristi/ys" were inseparable. They had many adventures together, which have continued despite living in separate states.

Lexi and Kristy's moms were best friends in Syracuse, so they grew up together and are more like sisters. Their friendship has survived Lexi moving to Hawaii in middle school (and now Kristy has a great place to visit her.)
