Our community thrives on local produce and artists. The Saturday Market is a great place to scope out our locally grown goodies, and maybe find a piece of art to hang in your own home! We highly recommend Nancy's raspberry bars and Zia's burritos if you are lucky enough to get at the front of the line!
Visible from most of Corvallis is Mary's Peak, situated West on Alsea Highway. A place I personally dislike driving to, but never regret visiting. You can see all of Corvallis and neighboring towns, as well as beautiful nature and hiking trails.
Hungry for a slice? American Dream Pizza is one of our personal favorites! Customize a slice just for you, or a whole pie to share! The Crow Bar in the back is also a low lighted escape from your hectic trip, adorned with great customer service and delectable hand crafted drinks. If the weather is nice, we definitely recommend checking out the roof top! Enjoy the breeze, your pizza and beer, and it will definitely make the long drive worth it!
A frequented walk of ours includes Bald Hill. Take the easy cement path and enjoy Corvallis's agriculture, or pull up your boot straps and head into the woods to see the old barn and oak trees. If you're feeling extra energetic, try the west side entrance for a consistent incline that will leave you breathless from both view and exhaustion. Whatever you decide, give it a try!
With three different locations, Coffee Culture is one of our favorite local shops to frequent! They have many hand crafted drinks and flavors, and all of them will give you that pick-me-up you need from a hectic weekend! If you're lucky, you'll even be in time for my favorite drink of all, their Lavender Lemonade. Made from scratch from locally sourced lavender, it's the perfect refreshment to help you stay cool and hydrated!
If you didn't know already, Corvallis is home to Oregon State University, home of the Beavers. While our Football team isn't exactly consistent winners, the community that forms are die hard. The campus is full of beautiful architecture and fun sculptures that pay homage to our small town culture. Follow the bike friendly paths to check out the expansive campus that brings our town so many visitors. Feel free to dine at any of the restaurants on the main strip, Monroe Street, that houses some of our favorite eateries, including Tarntip Thai, Local Boys Hawaiian Food, McMennamins bar and grill, The Interzone Cafe, and much more.
While I wouldn't recommend more than a toe dip, our Willamette River still remains a central beauty of our little town. Weather and current permitting, it's not a bad spot to float or paddle board, and with various bike friendly paths laced along the river side, it's a great place to cool off and enjoy a cold one, or just enjoy the sound of running water. You can see it as you walk the Saturday Market, or just as you visit the downtown eateries that run along the river front. The Brass Monkey is a frequented watering hole, as well as several breweries and restaurants that will cater any thirst or hunger while you are visiting.
One of our favorite cider companies is based right here in Corvallis! Come enjoy their brick and mortar cider house right off of Highway 34 before you come into Corvallis. Play some corn hole, enjoy their various snacks and hors d'oeuvres while sipping on some of their house made cider. Some of our favorites include Made Marion, Prickly Paradise, and their infamous Out Cider. You can also find seasonal favorites at this location, most of which can't be found in store. You don't want to miss out while you're here!
