We met at a Genentech soccer practice when a friend of ours introduced us and said "Zach, make sure you pass Kendal the ball." From there, we admired each other from a far until late night chats grew to a first date after soccer try-outs. Several dates and practices later, Zachary asked Kendal to a romantic dinner at The Firehouse in Old Sacramento. After dinner and dessert, we took an evening stroll in the rain by the Sacramento River where Zachary asked Kendal to be his girlfriend. Four years later on the anniversary of that date, we will say I do!
During our third trip together for the annual Roche International Football Tournament, we started our journey in Stockholm, Sweden. On that first night after exploring the city and a delicious dinner at a local Scandinavian restaurant, we took a leisurely walk back to the Vasatan district. At the beautiful courtyard of our quaint hotel, we relaxed under the stars. After a sweet reminisce of our adventures together and a short photo from Kendal's mom peering through her window, Zachary got down on one knee and asked Kendal to be his wife. We proceeded to celebrate by sailing through the Stockholm archipelago and with Kendal taking home her third championship at the tournament in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was a trip we'll never forget!
