We met the night of Friday, 6/27/2014. That evening Zach headed downtown SLC with a group of friends and popped into Whiskey Street for a quick cocktail. Kari also went to Whiskey Street with Julianne for a girls night and to say hello to Haylee who was working there at the time. Zach ran into his high school friend Julianne. They proceeded to talk in the crowded bar while Kari was sitting nearby. During this time Kari was being hit on by an older gentlemen and was trying to get Julianne's attention to save her. Julianne noticed what was going on and told Zach to go pretend to be her boyfriend so this guy would leave her alone. So he went over and did just that. We ended up talking the rest of the evening and hung out all night. The rest is history!

Wednesday 6/27/2018 Kari and Zach planned to celebrated their 4 year anniversary with a date night. Kari of course not knowing that it would be the biggest date night of their relationship. Zach took Kari to the Portland Rose Garden to see all the blossoming roses. The month of June is the best time to see them. As they were walking the gardens Zach wanted it to be spontaneous. He trailed behind her tryting to figure out the best place to propose. They came to this archway that was vined with roses and Zach got down on one knee and asked Kari to marry him.
