Janene thought she was just fixing a coffee machine in the church kitchen, spraying water on herself from the finnicky valve, but that night would be the beginning to something more. Zach walked into that kitchen on Thursday night to get water for the humidity tank on the church piano, and he didn't know he would be falling in love with the woman he surprisingly saw there. The next time Zach saw Janene, he had forgotten her name. The meeting in the kitchen was so brief that he could not recall. He noticed the absence of a ring on her left hand as she walked into the church that Sunday, which gave him hope to approach her. When he finally got the courage to do so after service, he tapped her shoulder and proceeded to ask her name... and promptly walk away. Janene longed to talk to him more, yet Zach was too scared of the possibility she would not see him in the same way he looked at her. Two weeks later another chance encounter would be orchestrated unknowingly by their worship leader. Zach and Janene were both invited to the same New Year's Party.
