Giovanna and Zach met in 2019 and have spent the years since building a life together. They bring out the best in each other—Giovanna’s Type A planning keeps things on track, while Zach’s Type B nature reminds her to slow down. She keeps him moving, he keeps things light, and somehow it works. From the very beginning, it was clear they complemented each other. On their first date, Zach forgot his keys at the restaurant—an early sign that he would later rely on the many lists Giovanna has written to help keep him on track. But when it comes to the moments that matter most, he never forgets. If you ask Zach how he knew Giovanna was the one, he’ll tell you it was when he introduced her to his best friend—his dog, Rusty—and Rusty didn’t try to bite her. Giovanna didn’t learn this until much later, when she met Zach’s friend Jake, who casually said, “I heard Rusty didn’t try to bite you—must be a keeper.” Slightly shocked, Giovanna decided it must be meant to be and has proudly claimed her role as Rusty’s “mommy” ever since. Seven years later, just before their anniversary dinner, Zach popped the question in their backyard, down on one knee, with the help of Giovanna’s sister. Despite his best efforts to act normal, Giovanna knew something was up—he was unusually conscious of time all day. A few hours before dinner, she called to say she was stopping at Marshalls, only for Zach to get flustered and insist it wasn’t a good idea, knowing full well she could spend hours shopping and risk being late. After years of waiting for him to ask, Giovanna of course, said yes. Now, they are thrilled to continue building their life together and to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
