Question
Where is the wedding?
Answer
Our ceremony is at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota along the Mississippi River. The church address is 1 Lourdes Place, Minneapolis. The cocktail hour and reception is at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis. The venue is located on the ground level of 1000 Nicollet Mall. The cross streets are Nicollet Mall and 10th Street, and building is on the corner. The distance between the church and the reception venue is 1.5 miles.

What time should I be there?
Answer
We recommend arriving at the church by 1:45pm. Ceremony starts promptly at 2pm. There are stairs at the front entrance of the church. For those with accessibility needs, an entrance is located at the street level with easier stairs. As you face the church, look to your left, and there is a door from the sidewalk a blue handicap sign. Unfortunately, the elevator is down, but please flag an Usher or staff to assist with the stairs. We recommend arriving early to the church to secure your seat. The doors of Dakota Jazz Club will open at 4:30pm for cocktail hour. Cocktails and appetizers are offered from 4:30pm – 6pm. Dinner is at 6pm.

I am visiting Minneapolis. What hotel should I stay at?
Answer
The bride and groom will be staying at The Royal Sonesta hotel in downtown Minneapolis. A discounted group rate is offered, please see Travel page. Other hotels and AirBNBs are plentiful in the area.

What is the dress code?
Answer

Can I wear black? Can I wear red? Is there any color I shouldn’t wear?
Answer
Black and red are great colors! However, if you’re unsure on style - check above for more details on semi-formal dress code. For females, the recommendation is to avoid white dresses. Otherwise, any other color you desire to wear is fair game!

I’ve never been to a wedding at a Catholic church. What should I expect?
Answer
Not a worry! We will have printed programs with readings, music lyrics, and guided prompts. Expect to sit, stand, sing, and listen (please don’t sleep). The duration of the ceremony is approximately 45 minutes. We are honoured to have you join us for this special moment in our lives.

How do I get around town on the day of the event?
Answer
Your choice! Minneapolis is a small city - public transportation and walking are great options. (Biking could be fun, too, but the weather may be hot in the afternoon.) We encourage carpooling and Uber / Lyft rideshare. For those staying in downtown with us - Uber codes will be provided closer to the date. For those who choose to drive their own vehicle, see next question.

I’m driving my car on Saturday - where should I park?
Answer
RiverPlace Parking Garage is next to the church at 124 Bank Street, Minneapolis. Parking validation tickets will be available after the ceremony; please see an usher. Street parking is also available. Parking garages are also available near the reception venue. For those staying at the Royal Sonesta hotel, please note the hotel garage is nearby and two blocks from the reception. Street parking is available but limited.

Yes! We love kids. At the reception, there will be a Kids Room with activities, located upstairs. Just indicate on your RSVP that your child will be attending.

Answer
RSVPs are online, see RSVP page on this website. Please enter your first and last name, and the form should allow you to name any additional guests in your party. For any issues, please reach out to Zach or Germaine.

Do I need to RSVP?
Answer
Yes, please. The reception is a seated dinner, and we will need your meal selection. The RSVP also helps immensely for planning and organization. We ask that you kindly respond as soon as possible so we can finalize our headcount.

What’s going on for Friday night?
Answer
If you have a designated role at the ceremony, there is a rehearsal on Friday September 12th at 5:30pm. Please come to Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Family and friends are welcome. Family and friends are also welcome to join us at Elsie’s for dinner on Friday night. See Schedule page.

I’ve heard people are going to the Farmers Market on Saturday morning. Can I come?
Answer
Minneapolis Farmers Market is every Saturday, and the farmers market is something Zach & Germaine like to do on the weekends. Zach will be leading a small group from the hotel to visit the Farmers Market on Saturday morning. Reach out to the groom if you’d like to join!
