We (especially Eleanor) are so excited to share some of our favorite local spots with you! Most of these recommendations are downtown Boone where you can find many restaurants and shops. A few of our favorites are listed below. We recommend going on a walk through downtown and, if you're looking for a longer walk, through App State's campus or the surrounding neighborhoods. There are several hikes in the area just off of the Blue Ridge Parkway if you're looking for an active weekend!

Stick Boy Bread Company

This is a great place to grab a baked good, coffee, smoothie, etc. They have Stick Boy Kitchen as well which is a short drive away and is one of my favorite spots for lunch!

Local Lion

791 Blowing Rock Road, Boone, NC 28607

Coffee + very good donuts!! A short walk from App State's campus.

Wild Craft Eatery

506 West King Street, Boone, NC 28607

They say "locally crafted, wildly delicious" & are not lying! Eleanor's fam loves to walk downtown for dinner here. This was also the first place we ate dinner with both of our parents together!

SouthEnd Brewing Co.

747 West King Street, Boone, NC 28607

A location in Boone opened a few years after the Greensboro location - it's a fun tie between Eleanor's hometown and our current home!

Rough Ridge Lookout - Grandfather Mountain, NC.

3218 Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville, NC 28646

One of the most popular hikes in the area and for good reason! The views from the top (& along the way) are incredible and the hike is just over a mile round trip. Oh! & Zack proposed here ;)

For all the days along the way
