FAQs

Question

Dress Code

Answer

We're going for a slightly more casual "Beach Cocktail Attire" type of dress code. It's often quite humid, and while our venue is on the cooler side of the island, we want everyone to be comfortable! Lightweight fabrics recommended! For the men, think nice Hawaiian shirts or other buttoned down shirts with slacks. Jackets and ties are optional. For the ladies, think sundresses / cocktail dresses. We will mostly be on grass, so be mindful of heels! You may want to opt for flats or wedges.

Question

Venue / Parking / Shuttles

Answer

The venue is a private residence at 41-497 Kalanianaole Hwy, Waimanalo, HI 96795. For those who may drive themselves, we will have people park across the street. We will have attendants to help guests with where to park / crossing the street to the venue. For those staying closer to Waikiki, we are planning to have a shuttle from the Kaimana hotel to the wedding venue and back (more details to come).

Question

Schedule

Answer

Please check the "Schedule" page for the most up-to-date details on timing.

Question

Weather / Environment Details

Answer

The event will be totally outdoors with the main dining and dance area under a covered tent. We will primarily be on a grass lawn, with just the dance floor being the main solid ground. It's typically always around 80 degrees Fahrenheit and humid. Our location in Waimanalo tends to be a little cooler, and since we'll be right on the water, there should be a nice breeze. After 3-4pm the sun typically goes behind the mountain, so we shouldn't be in direct sunlight for much of the event. That being said, sunglasses, sunscreen, and other sunny day accessories are always advised. Also, while it remains warm and sunny, rain is never off the table. Hopefully if we do have rain it's a quick passing shower!

Question

Plus-Ones and Kids

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with our closest family and friends! Due to space and planning considerations, we’re only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation. While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We truly appreciate your understanding.

Question

Food and Drink

Answer

There will be a full dinner service, as well as an open bar serving beer, wine, and a couple signature cocktails (and a water station for staying hydrated in the humidity!)

Question

How to RSVP

Answer

Details to come.

Question

Wedding Gifts / Registry

Answer

Your presence is our present! Any additional gifts are totally optional. We have put together a small list on the "Registry" page if you feel so inclined.

Question

Photos

Answer

We would appreciate if guests could keep their phones put away and refrain from taking photos during the main ceremony, but otherwise before / after / cocktail hour / etc. all free game!
