How We Met

9.9.21

I remember the first time I laid eyes on Maggie. It was the first Sunday night of our Freshmen year in college. We both went to a dinner at a staff member's house after the evening service. As we were eating dinner, out of the corner of my eye, I saw this beautiful blonde girl making multiple glances over at me. I looked over, and we made eye contact. She looked away, but I thought, "I'm going to marry that girl."

The Proposal

8.5.23

I had Kim (Maggie's mom) take Maggie out with Lydia (her sister) to go shopping and run some errands; she thought it was just another day, but little did she know that I was planning to propose! I was setting up the spot not but five minutes down the road and had reserved an area in the woods just off a little trail that leads to the water. Kim brought Maggie and Lydia to the spot of the proposal, and they came up the trail to see if the lake had a good view until they came to the trail where I had set up red and white rose petals with candles on each side. Maggie follows the trail, and sees me standing with a bouquet of red and white roses in a circle of trees covered with the same rose petals and candles that were on the trail, along with curtain lights on every tree, and pictures hanging between each one and at the base of a fallen tree, was the letters "Z&M." It was there that I took her by the hand and asked her to marry me... and she said YES! This is a PRIVATE wedding! There will be a livestream for those that did not receive an invitation. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Charlotte!
