One night, Tonë was invited to a large get-together with friends by a coworker. Zach stopped by to pick up a friend, and somewhere in the middle of everything, we found ourselves talking. What started as a simple conversation lingered longer than either of us expected. After that night, Zach asked Tonë’s coworker about her. Since Tonë and her coworker worked together at an ice cream shop, and the coworker’s boyfriend at the time was good friends with Zach, the guys stopped in to visit during a shift. What felt like a quick visit turned into another chance to talk, this time without the distractions, and it became clear we both wanted to see each other again. Not long after, we started texting and planned our first date to Bam to play arcade games, followed by dinner at On The Border. The night was easy, full of laughter and conversation, and it naturally led to more time together. Zach soon learned that Tonë loved Post Malone. He mentioned that he had tickets to a concert and asked if she wanted to go. What Tonë didn’t know at the time was that he didn’t actually have the tickets yet. Zach drove a couple of hours to buy them from someone, just to make the night possible. On the drive to Detroit, we talked nonstop and learned so much about each other. On the way home, Zach played a song and we kept talking, only realizing much later that it had been playing on repeat the entire time. From that point on, we spent most of our time together, whether it was with friends or just hanging out. Not long after, Zach asked Tonë to be his girlfriend at her favorite beach in Douglas, using a yellow-and-black poster inspired by Post Malone’s album colors, filled with song titles that made the moment uniquely ours. From the moment we met, we became inseparable. What began in 2018 as a connection between a 16 and 17 year-old has grown into a life we’re deeply proud of. Together, we’ve grown up, become homeowners, dog parents, and continued to chase our dreams side by side, building a life rooted in love, support, and shared goals that we truly cherish.
