Suzy & Zach grew up going to the same school. They were in the same class in third grade and were friends throughout middle and high school. During their senior year of high school, Suzy & Zach went on their first date to the Front Royal theater and saw the movie How to be Single. It was snowing and the movie was terrible, but they both had a fun time. After that night, Zach and Suzy spent more and more time together just enjoying each others company. Zach finally asked Suzy to officially be his girlfriend on March 27th of that year which was also Easter. Following that, Suzy and Zach attended their senior prom together and also graduated high school together. That following summer, Zach left for Universal Technical Institute in Pennsylvania and Suzy left for Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Their time apart was hard, but it made their time together even sweeter.

Zach planned a heartfelt proposal on Suzys family farm. When planning the proposal, he obviously went to ask Mr. & Mrs. Downey's permission and while chatting about the day he was planning on proposing, Mrs. Downey realized that it was going to be exactly 25 years to the day after Suzys dad proposed to her. After hearing that, Zach knew that November 24, 2021, the day before Thanksgiving, was the perfect day to ask. That afternoon, Zach came to pick Suzy up for a "date night" and then Suzys dad told him he couldn't find a cow on the farm. So, Zach said instead of "date night" they were going to look for the cow. Zach then took Suzy down to the farm, took her up on top of the hill behind the farm house, and walked her up to a black box on the ground. She opened the box and it was pictures of them that were taken throughout their relationship. In the middle of the box was what looked like a ring box and inside was a ring pop. Zach then pulled out the real ring (haha) and proposed.
