Comfortable attire
Our wedding celebration kicks off with blessings from the community, which in Jewish tradition is called an ufruf (Yiddish for “calling up”). This will be held during a lively and songful Shabbat by the Creek, with Torah discussion at 9:30am, Shabbat services at 10:45am, and lunch 12:30-2:30pm. If you plan to attend the ufruf, please let us know in your wedding invitation's RSVP. **Please park on Hull Street, next to Newton North High School, or the surrounding side streets.
11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Semi-Formal attire (we'll be outside on grass, weather permitting)
We'll be gathering before the ceremony for the Kabbalat Panim and Bedeken, opportunities for you to send sparks of blessings and good energy our way as we move to the chuppah. From the Bedeken, the community will dance us to the chuppah, where the wedding ceremony will take place. After the chuppah, we'll have dancing and feasting through the afternoon and into the early evening.
