Thank goodness for the internet! We met via Coffee Meets Bagel - an app we're not even sure that people still use... Melanie hit "like" because of an adorable picture of Zach and Grandma Mary in matching Northface puff jackets (see Gallery for said photo). Zach hit "like" because of Melanie's love for salsa - both the eating and the dancing kind. After various dates involving concerts, rock climbing, salsa dancing, home-cooked meals, and snow sports, we both knew we were in it for the long haul. Since then, we've been on countless adventures together. We've traveled from Scandinavia to Mexico, from the Canadian Rockies to Rocky Mountain National Park, from Havasupai to the East Coast, to several National Parks, flown all over the country to visit friends and family, embarked on countless cooking journeys (don't forget to check out our @zachnmellovefood insta), adopted our doghter Bumi, bought a house together, and most recently got engaged in the most magical setting under the Northern Lights. We have loved each of our adventures both big and small, and are so excited to keep adventuring together forever.

Melanie and Zach decided to take a trip to Scandinavia to witness the magic of the Northern Lights and explore all that Northern Europe has to offer. On the second night of Northern Lights tours, we were lucky enough to see the lights even brighter than the first! Melanie was in the middle of a long exposure photo when Zach walked up to her with a small box. Before Melanie shooed him out of the frame, Zach proposed with a beautiful "adventure ring" from Tromso. She blubbered for a good half hour, even as they FaceTimed both their parents!
