Zach and Maya met in March of 2019 while they were both attending Michigan State University (Go Green!). They talked nonstop and hung out several times before the semester was over and Maya moved back home for the summer in May. They only saw each other once all summer long, but continued to text and call, getting to know each other more and more. Finally, once both back on campus at the end of August 2019, they went to the first MSU football tailgate of the season where Zach officially asked Maya to be his girlfriend. After that, they were inseparable. They continued hanging out, meeting each others friends and families and building their relationship stronger each day and it's been history ever since. Finally, in July 2024, Maya's family took a trip to Belgium and the Netherlands to see where her grandpa grew up. Little did she know that Zach had a ring in his backpack on the plane. When they were in Bruges, Belgium, Zach asked Maya's dad for his blessing. From there, the ring was put in Maya's dad's backpack and carried through the streets of Amsterdam until the VERY last day of their trip when Zach dropped down on one knee in the beautiful Museumplein garden in front of Maya's whole family. It was perfect and of course she said yes.
