Our story began amongst the vibrant student life at the University of Texas in Austin in a service organization, where our hearts connected in giving back to our communities. I still vividly recalled the day I met Zach as he stood before the group, vying for class president with his charisma and humor. Thanks to our mutual friends (Andy & Jordan), we started to hang out, shared our joy of parties and raves, had countless meals, and literally lived our best college lives together like the TV show 'Friends.' Then one night, we were off to the side on the rooftop, I came to realization I had developed a crush and asked Zach the question that would change our lives: "Do you wanna go on a date?"

I always wanted to take Zach to Vietnam to show him where my family is from, and it was a dream destination for both of us. He surprised me with a stay at the dreamy Six Senses resort on the island of Con Dao, where we felt like we had the whole island to ourselves. One day, we had plans to go boating, but it was too windy. So instead, we made the best of it and explored the island on our mopeds. That evening, Zach suggested we do the chef's tasting menu for dinner, which sounded perfect after a long day. I was all in especially when we get to have front row seats to experience chef and his team in action. We sat down, ordered champagne, and right when I was getting comfortable, Zach excused himself to the restroom. It was totally normal, so I didn't think twice. A few minutes later, I hear champagne popping and there he is with a big grin holding a box. He got down on one knee and popped the question! (Little did I know he had been quietly stressing out all day because our boating plans fell through, but he played it off so well and had help from the amazing staff. He managed to pull together the most perfect spontaneous proposal-- it was just us, the ocean, and unexpected moment that I'll never forget)
