Hotel
We love this hotel for a few reasons. It’s located in a great part of Downtown, just a 5-minute drive to the wedding venue. It’s a short walk to Centennial Olympic Park, the SkyView wheel, World of Coke, Georgia Aquarium and a variety of restaurants (we love Ted’s Montana Grill). There’s a Starbucks in the hotel lobby. On the 72nd floor of the hotel you’ll find the rotating Sundial restaurant + bar - the skyline views are worth a pricey cocktail. We also love this hotel because of its history. It was designed by Atlanta’s most prolific architect, John Portman (you’ll notice streets named after him). He is known for his stunning atriums and glass elevators. When it opened, the Westin Peachtree Plaza was the tallest hotel in the U.S. Be sure to check out its spiral staircase and indoor/outdoor pool. Reservations must be made by Feb. 14 to receive the discounted room block rate of $139. If you drive, there is self-parking for $25 or overnight valet for $49. We can’t wait to see you!
Travel Note
The Georgia Freight Depot is the oldest building in downtown Atlanta. It’s located between landmarks like the Georgia State Capitol and The Masquerade (and it is hard to find). Use 55 Martin Luther King Jr Dr SW, Atlanta GA 30303 in your GPS to arrive at the valet loop and rideshare drop off area. The venue is located across the street from the Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Driving down M.L.K. Jr Dr, you will take a right into the venue before arriving at Central Ave.
