Let's Party!

Picture this.. a sweaty-college-basement-party. Not the most romantic of settings. Zach was pretty sure that Kylee was just being nice to him. Approaching the tall, awkward kid standing in the corner. I mean, let's be honest. Kylee is pretty far out of his league. Kylee, however, was very confident in her ways (surprising no one). She marched right up to Zach and asked him, "Why don't you ever talk to me? I call you 'Hot Guy'!" Sure, there was a bit of vodka going around to help smooth out the awkwardness. Ever since then, we both think it is fair to say we have been pretty obsessed with each other. All it took was a little lucky timing and a lot of liquid courage to find ourselves getting married 8 years later.

Our proposal story starts on a cold beach just outside of Seattle in April 2022. Kylee asked a completely unsuspecting Zach to sit on one of their favorite benches overlooking a bay in the Puget Sound. She revealed a neatly folded piece of paper and read from it, finally asking, "Will you marry me?" She produced two rings (yep, she totally bought herself a ring) and, of course, Zach said yes after he finally got over the realization and shock of what was happening 5 minutes later. However, our proposal story doesn't end there! Not wanting Kylee to have ALL of the fun, Zach asked Kylee if he could propose to her as well. We decided to keep things secret until he had a plan. Zach waited until September to finally pop the question back at Kylee. He tricked her into thinking they would be taking family pictures to get dressed up, took her on a quick walk through their favorite park in Fargo prior to leaving, and proposed to her on one of their favorite benches there. Tyler and Sarae were even hiding in the bushes to take pictures of the entire thing.

Oh it definitely has been. But, we have loved every step of the way. We got officially married on May 5, 2023 at the Courthouse in Fargo. The ceremony was short and sweet, just the way we wanted it. We took pictures at our favorite places around Fargo-Moorhead, got drinks at our favorite bars and breweries, and spent the night with our favorite people. The only way we could top that was to then go on a two week vacation across Scotland to Elope! We held our ceremony on May 25, 2023 on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, in an area called the Quiraing. It was possibly the most "Zach and Kylee" thing we could do and the day was full of intimate moments, breath-taking views, and us just celebrating our love. That finally brings us to our third and (probably) final wedding day, our reception in Alexandria! It will actually be our one year anniversary, but it will be the first time we are celebrating with all of our family and friends. We cannot wait to get everyone in the same room together and are so excited about how crazy-fun it will be. We can't wait to see everyone and have the greatest day ever!
