Love blossoms in unexpected places, such as the stockroom of The Backpacker a year and a half ago, and there was not much thought to it. With a few exchanged words every now and then when Zach visited the store, social media stalking, and other new-age relationship kindling; feelings began to grow and greaux until eventually, the first date. Afterwards, each began driving back and forth between Lafayette and Baton Rouge for date nights. One fateful night, Kimia was stuck with the MIller's during The Great Flood and the relationship was compelled to move in a new direction. A young relationship was forced to mature as each began to see the other perform under stress (Kimia handles it with much more grace than anyone you might know). From there, there was a knowing that something special was rooted that water could not wash away.
During a backpacking trip in northern Arkansas for Kimia's 26th birthday challenge, and a grueling 12 mile first day hike, the humble campsite along the Little Missouri River became a refuge that bred a memory. Tired and hungry, Zach persisted to set up the camera for a picture to remember the beautiful scenery, but instead of a quick pose for the camera, Zach pulled out the ring and got down on one knee. Kimia said... "What are you doing? That's not how you take a....wait? Are you serious? Yes! OF COURSE" It was a surreal and beautiful moment that they will cherish forever. ~ We are so excited to share in our newest adventure, as we start our lives as husband and wife!
