Kendall's View We met in October of 2010 at the sand volleyball courts at Jacksonville University. I decided to take a break from homework to play sand with some of my teammates' and their friends from men's soccer. As I walked up to the courts a group was already playing, but my friend Nicole was on the side. I surveyed the group and noticed a guy I hadn't seen before. I turned to Nicole and said, "hey, who is that? He is cute!" She replied, "Oh, that's our friend, Zach. He's a goal keeper." To which I smartly replied, "Oh...I don't date goal keepers." That has always been the joke I share when people ask how we met, but I guess Zach gets the last laugh...I may not date keepers, but I marry them! Zach's View Eight years ago in October was the first time I met Savannah. It was on the sand volleyball courts at Jacksonville University where we both went to school. She was a setter who played volleyball and I was a keeper who played soccer. Toby, my teammate and roommate, and I met up with some of our friends, who were also on the volleyball team, to play some sand volleyball for fun. Being a keeper I was already at a disadvantage, because she didn’t date keepers (something about them not being real soccer players….), but I must have impressed her with my volleyball skills because Toby and I beat everyone we played. Later that night Savannah invited Toby and I to go and eat sushi with her and some of her teammates, but we were pretty hungry and decided that sushi wouldn’t be enough food, so Toby and I went to Mellow Mushroom instead. I have always been bad with names and by the end of the night I figured out that Savannah wasn’t even a real person and that I had been talking to Kendall the whole time. To this day whenever she calls or texts me it shows up as Savannah/Kendall.
