COVID-19 Update

We’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding until we have a better handle on when we can safely invite everyone we love to a mutual space. This was a heartbreaking decision, but not nearly as heartbreaking as the idea of putting our loved ones at risk or adding the extra financial strain to many of our loved ones who've lost jobs through this mess. When it comes right down to it, Zach and I want you to be with us as we celebrate this important piece of our life together - we just can't do it without you. At this time, things are changing rapidly. There are lots of unknowns at this point, and we will be reaching out as soon as we know more. In the meantime, hug your loved ones at home a little longer. Be safe and be well. Love, the Future Mr. Zach Elkintons

The Beginning

It all started with a gif

After our friends' (Steph and Odie!) wedding in Hood River, Or, romantic me decided to re-download Tinder for the who-knows-how-many-time. However, I set a rule for myself. If the Tinder match hadn't asked me on a date within 7 days of texting back and forth, they'd get deleted. When I saw Zach's profile, the dorkiest pictures and the most hilarious bio that happened to mention "yes, I will buy you food," I immediately swiped right. A match! After several days of communicating through nothing other than New Girl gifs, I was starting to lose hope that this hilarious and cute man would ever ask to meet me in person. One night, leaving one of the most boring "drinks" date of my life, I got a text asking what I was up to. Zach. I immediately responded, "Just leaving a date. What are you up to?" Unflustered, he asked how the date was and asked me to meet him for another. (Later, I learned he'd already had a few with his friends - which probably is why he was feeling extra confident!) We met at Tanner's and he waited outside for me until I arrived so that we could walk in together. We sat at the bar and had several of the beer of night - $3 Bell's Two Hearted Ales. I thought he was cute and quiet but overall didn't know what else to think. After the date, when I got home I received a text that said, "I hope you made it home safely. I had a great time." or something along those lines. I knew at that point, I had to see him again.
