How It All Got Started

It's simple and sweet, but also not the most conventional. We didn't meet in a coffee shop, or see each other from across the room at a party. Zach, and I met on a dating app. One that not many people have heard of. Hily. We both have had rough relationships in the past and were ready to start fresh with the right someone. After swiping right and left through different people, we finally matched with one another. We started off casually talking through the app, but soon realized talking with one another was like talking with someone we've known for years. It came surprisingly natural, and easy to talk with one another about everything. From the different cars we drive, to the music we like, all the way to the two wild heathens I have. Our relationship started off great from the very start. Of course we've had obstacles to get past and we've had our own arguements/disagreements. Our relationship isn't a fairy tale, it's as real as it gets. But, through all our trials and troubles, little did we know how strong our bond and relationship would become. After having nightly video chats and texting all day long every day, we decided to make our relationship official and meet for the very first time in person in Butler, IN at his house on May 11, 2019. He then met the kids about 6months later, when we took them to an arcade in Fort Wayne, IN. Now, the kids have grown such an attachment that, we can't have a conversation on the phone or video chat without them stealing my phone to talk with him. like every relationship, we have our ups and downs and differences, but the bond we have made with each other and the bond he's made with the kids can't be broken.

The Proposal

May 19, 2020

This wasn't supposed to happen until July, but a certain someone, who shall not be named.....Zachary, was very impatient. While sitting on the bed talking, Zach asked me if I wanted to see a gift that he got me. I told him, "Only if you want to show it to me." We went back and forth a few times because I wasn't giving him the answer he wanted to hear. After finally coming to the conclusion that he was going to show me it, he got it out, hid it behind his back, double checked that I did want to see it, and handed it to me. It was a personalized book on all the reasons he loves me. It was the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me. I loved reading it and definitely had to wipe my eyes a few times to keep myself composed. It truly was pulling at my heart strings. After reading the book, I flipped to the very last page and on it read "Will You Marry Me?" with a cartoon character that looks like him. When I looked up to tell him yes and to thank him so very much for this very very thoughtful gift, he was kneeling on one knee with the ring.

For all the days along the way
