Lava hot springs is a fun thing to do if you have an extra day or two to explore around southeast Idaho! It’s about an hour and a half drive but totally worth it if you’re looking to float a good river! There are also hot pools and swimming options but floating the river is our favorite thing to do on a hot Idaho day!
Island park is not only beautiful but is only 30 minutes to the entrance of west Yellowstone. If you have extra time and you’re looking to explore or head towards Yellowstone, make a stop in Island park. There are lots of hiking trails, horse back riding, fishing, ATV rentals and more!
