Cascades Park
Just a 10 minute walk from the capitol building, Cascades Park is a great place to spend a few hours when the weather is nice.
The Edison - Restaurant Tallahassee
The Edison is a historic restaurant in Cascades Park. Built in 1921 to serve as the City Electric Building, it once converted coal into gas, providing lighting and heat for the city’s residents.
Persis Indian Grill
Persis is our favorite restaurant in all of Tallahassee. The owner knows our names, recognizes our voices when we order by phone, and has memorized our go-to order. Zach orders the bone-in chicken biryani, "as spicy as you can make it." Dena orders chicken chettinadu, medium spice. Don't forget an order of garlic naan!
Lucky Goat Coffee
For local Tallahassee coffee, we recommend Lucky Goat. You'll love the taste, support a local business, and in late February you'll probably see some burnt out college students cramming for midterms.
Finnegan's Wake
Stop by Finnegan's Wake for drinks in this quaint local pub. When we first met we spent a lot of time at Finn's, promising to "grade papers" over drinks as an excuse to spend time together. Our seat-of-choice is the table directly across from the fireplace.
Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park
Besides being our reception site, the Wakulla Springs State Park has a lot to offer. The freshwater springs are 70 degrees Fahrenheit, year round. You can also enjoy the diving platform, riverboat tours, and several miles of trails.
Florida State Capitol
If you've never visited Florida's Capitol building, this is a great time of year to visit (or at least drive by).
