Hotel
We have reserved a hotel block here for both Friday and Saturday nights, as this hotel is only a block from the venue and the train station! Perfect for those without transportation, or for those who don't want to worry about driving after the reception (it is at a brewery, after all). Rooms booked through the block will be $159 plus tax per night, with parking and breakfast included. To book under the room block, follow the link below to the Poughkeepsie Grand website, click “Book A Room”, and enter the promo code STTE under "Rate Options". We'll be staying here as well, so we hope to see you there!
Hotel
We do not have a hotel block reserved here, but it is a bit cheaper than the Poughkeepsie Grand. For those without a car, it will be a bit more inconvenient--it's about two miles from the venue. If you have transportation, however, or don't mind taking Lyfts or Ubers, this is a more affordable option! Currently, rooms are listed at $85 a night plus tax.
Train
Both the Metro North Hudson Line and the Amtrak Adirondack and Empire lines run from New York City to Poughkeepsie. On weekends, there's a train about every hour, and both options are less than $50 round trip. If you're coming from New York City without a car, this is probably your best bet for getting to Poughkeepsie! The train station is half a mile from the venue and hotel, so it's definitely possible to walk. Keep in mind that on Saturday nights the last train leaves at 10pm, so you'll most likely want to book a hotel room for the night. Also remember that Amtrak trains leave from Penn Station, while Metro North trains leave from Grand Central.
Rental Car
We've had great luck with the Hertz in Poughkeepsie. Keep in mind, however, that this location is not close to the train station, so if you want to rent a car from here you'll need to get an Uber or Lyft (both active in Poughkeepsie) from the train station. It's only about a 10 minute drive, and shouldn't cost more than $15.
Travel Note
The venue is right around the corner from the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, so if you're staying there transportation shouldn't be an issue! If you choose to stay elsewhere, however, and don't have your own car, both Uber and Lyft are active in Poughkeepsie and are your best bet for getting around.
