It was Chloe's first day at Goodwill. She had been struggling with her previous job and needed something more stable. Upon putting in several applications to many different places she thought of Goodwill. She knew she had no retail experience, but she figured God was in the lead and she took a shot anyway. The day after she put in that application she is getting a text about a phone interview for Goodwill. She was a little surprised, but excitement overtook her and she accepted gratefully. Once the phone interview had concluded she was being invited in for a tour and she knew she could have hope. That very same day she took the tour she was offered the fulltime position at Goodwill. Excitement flowed through her as she went home and awaited her first day. On April 3rd of 2025 she walks into Goodwill eager for her first day of work. The orientation is going very well and by the end after the manager is finished showing her around and the emergency areas, he asks her if she would like to stay for a full day or go home at a half day. She thinks about this answer a little hesitant to reply. She felt tired and wanted to just rest before actually starting her full-on fulltime hours at her new job while also finishing her two weeks at her other one. However, something inside her was telling her to stay and get the feel for closing the store. She knew she would be closing a lot, and she just wanted to know what that was going to be like. Nothing could be as bad as closing at Klavons and being out till almost 11:30, midnight. After thinking about it for a little bit she looked at her manager and told him that she would like to stay and get a feel for the closing shift. The manager politely smiled at her and took her into the office to move forward with her day. While in the office she meets the store manager and she greets her with a smile. She welcomed her by giving her a name badge and showed her where she would be punching in every day. Chloe smiled feeling something good was going to come from this job, but she didn't know what. Her manager walked her over to where she would be trained on for the next week. At first Chloe was trying to look around and get a feel for the area around her while the manager called Zach's name. As soon as her words spoke "Yep, Zach you're training again," Chloe looked over at him and about froze. This wasn't just about her being shy around new people. This was about how she felt the minute she looked at him. As soon as she looked into Zach's face she felt in a way she had never even begun to feel before. At the time she was going through a hard time, and she didn't know what to do or who to turn to. She knew God was there, but she felt so lost it seemed like she was just in the dark all the time. That is until she looked into Zach's face. The darkness blew away like the wind blowing away a dark cloud. There it was...light. This kind of light she had never experienced until she saw him. She could feel as though God Himself was telling her "This is your future. This is what I have in store for you and it's going to happen whether you want it to or not. Now you have some choices to make." She knew there was really no choice with how much lighter she felt around him. She knew something good was going to come of it, she just didn't know what yet. Deep down right from the start she was wishing and hoping it would be something more but this time she was letting God lead her. After getting to know Zach a little more while working with him she realized her feelings were quickly turning to more. She began to pray for nothing more than God's will in her life. Later she realized Zach did something similar and she knew it was meant to be. Once they exchanged numbers that was it, it was set in stone for them. They talked until 1:00-2:00 in the morning at times just getting to know one another. They had set a time to hang out but they knew. On the day of May 1st, 2025, it was official.
