Go Cubs Go! The Minnesota Twins are conveniently playing at Wrigley Field from August 5-7. Then over the weekend, the Cubs will be playing AT the Chicago White Sox (boo), but Wrigley bars will be thriving. Some great bars: Bernie's, Old Crow Smokehouse, and Murphey's Bleachers.
Lincoln Park Zoo is located close to the hotel block and reception. Free admission!
Apologies to the Chicago folks for stating the obvious... but for those traveling in, this is a go to Irish Pub in Chicago. While Zach was first attracted to Annie on the wedding dance floor, the sparks continued to fly at Butch's.
Gold Coast is a stunning area in Chicago known for shopping, fun bars, and amazing dining. Some of our favorite's include Lou Malnati's (duh! - also our first date spot), Lux Bar, and The Bellevue.
There are many places we love, but here are a few of our favorites! Ranalli's (where we went after we got engaged!), J. Parker (rooftop bar at the top of Hotel Lincoln), Galway Arms for a pint of Guinness, Gemini for a great cocktail and app, Chicago Pizza Oven Grinder for a pizza pot pie, Marquee Lounge for a great beer (Armitage & Halsted), and just about anywhere near the Armitage & Halsted Corner. Great restaurants (Halsted) and shopping (Armitage).
If you're visiting for the weekend, the Architecture Boat tour is a great way to see the city! We recommend walking the Chicago river walk after the tour. Fun fact: The bride and groom met on one of these!
A charming street with shops, restaurants, and bars. A few great spots are Crosby's Kitchen, Tuco & Blondie, Coda di Volpe, and Tied House. If you enjoy shopping, there's plenty of places to shops as well!
