From thrifty side gig and collegiate campaign to deep friendship and compassionate love. How did Amaya and Zach meet? Well…let us walk you through it. During Amaya’s junior year of college at GCU, she ran to be the first women student body vice-president of the biggest private university in the nation (if you know Amaya, this ambition shouldn’t come as a shock to you). In efforts of creating a historic campaign, she hosted a “student market”, where entrepreneurial students can be vendors, make some cash, and drive big crowds to support her election. Zach - a world traveler, creative, and detailed eye for trendy “vintage fashion”, was a vendor with his small business titled, “Don’t Trip Thrifts” (a mantra to both Zach’s go with the flow mentality and homage to his favorite artist, Mac Miller). What was just another chance to sell his unique collection turned into a day they will never forget. (Well…we kinda forgot…but let us explain.) As Amaya was making her rounds and thanking the voters, supporters and vendors, she came across the “Don’t Trip Thrifts” booth, run by a tall, blonde-haired, blue eyed guy (yes, Zach’s hair was dyed blonde at the time). They talked for almost an hour, leaving a lasting impression (we don’t quite remember the conversation we had…but we can never forget the feeling we had talking to each other.) Fast forward nearly a year later, Amaya was elected, Zach was pursuing his theology major…and she asked him for his number. They had their first date at an arcade two days later, and haven’t stopped hanging out since. Our relationship has been such a blessing. From day one, we made it clear that we wanted to approach this journey in a God-centered way. We truly believe our foundation in the Lord, and our exceptional friendship (and occasional dance parties), have brought us together to be united and sharpen each other in efforts to grow the Kingdom! We are so excited for you to join us for the beginning of the Galvins!
