Olde Salem Brewing Company

We had our first date here! This is a great stop in downtown Salem - close to several restaurants. They usually have a food truck and live music on weekends nights.

Parkway Brewing Company

This is a little gem in Salem! Very close to some of the hiking recommendations below - it's a great stop on the way back down the mountain. They have indoor/outdoor seating with a food truck and live music most nights.

We love coming here! Our favorite flavors are coffee chocolate chip and sea salt brickle.

Mill Mountain Star

Roanoke Mountain Adventures

You can rent bikes here and take a ride along the Roanoke River Greenway. This is located right in the Wasena area with several restaurants. You can take the greenway about 2 miles to our favorite ice cream place, Blue Cow, and if you're looking for an adventure you can continue up the mountain to the Mill Mountain Star!

Blue Ridge Parkway

Take a drive along the parkway and enjoy the beautiful fall foliage!

Mcafee Knob TrailHead

This is one of the most popular hikes in VA and follows the Appalachian Trail up to a spectacular view! The parking lot can fill up quickly on a nice weekend day - we recommend getting there early morning.

Dragons Tooth Trail Head

This hike is part of Virginia's "Triple Crown", along with McAfee Knob and Tinker Cliffs. This hike is slightly shorter than McAfee's Knob and includes a short section of rock scrambling near the top. The sunrise view from here is amazing.

Carvins Cove Natural Reserve

This is one of Zach's favorite places to spend an afternoon. Lots of great hiking and mountain biking trails here for the adventurer!
