Zac and I met working together at "Old" Backwater Jacks, AKA the restaurant before it was the big swim up bar lake spot we all know today. We spent our summers serving tables for tips, and spending the off days boating, swimming, and hanging out on the dock with all our lake friends. Then the summer would end, and we would each go our own ways back to school and not speak a word to each other until the next summer. (Even when one of us was in the southern city for a hockey game where the other one lived and still never called or texted..). My last summer at the lake before starting residency Zac and I found ourselves spending almost every day together, and I realized he was the first person I would think about talking to when I woke up. At some point one of my friends came to visit and said "you know he likes you, right?" (Shout out Sarah Henderson, bridesmaid!). A few short weeks later, Zac won his first kiss as a bet on a magic trick, a bet he knew he would not lose. We dated long distance when I moved to Chicago that summer, and it didn't take long for us to realize we never wanted to be apart again! And the rest is history....
