On March 14th 2019, Zac received a Facebook message from Tania Vasquez: "Happy birthday" with a little cake emoji. They'd become friends on Facebook after Zac's long stint in Honduras without really ever meeting each other there. Zac didn't think much of it except that the girl who sent him the birthday message was incredibly cute. What followed was months of shameless social media stalking by Zac until he finally wrote to Tania himself on October 9th. What followed, neither of them would have guessed. Zac and Tania began a streak of communication that began in 2019 and has continued through today despite her living in New Jersey and him in Florida and Alabama. The more they spoke, the more they wanted to speak. The communicated completely via messages and video calls until March of 2023 when Zac finally made his first trip to meet Tania in Jersey City. It was apparent very early on that this was something special. From then on, Zac took trips to see Tania every few months, a week at a time, managing their long distance relationship the best they could and they finally became an official couple on September 17th, 2023 at the Liberty House restaurant on the Hudson River looking at the New York Skyline. From then, they continued to travel one to the other whenever they could, but they always dreaded the tearful goodbyes that always came at the end of their trips. After two years of flights and car rentals and airport goodbyes, Zac asked Tania to marry him in Disney World on December 26th, 2024. Since then the couple has been anxiously awaiting the day they can finally put all their teary-eyed goodbyes behind them and spend the rest of their lives together.
