Our Story

For nearly ten years, we were aware of each other without ever really knowing each other. We first met in 2015 at Union University. We shared some mutual friends and occasionally crossed paths in group settings, but we never really got to know each other. After college, we went our separate ways—Zac to Nashville and Savannah to Memphis—and spent the next several years building our own lives. Looking back, it’s funny how many times our paths almost crossed. We later discovered that we had been at several of the same concerts over the years without ever realizing it. We were often in the same places, surrounded by the same people, just never quite at the same time. Nearly ten years after we first met, that finally changed. One random day during a lunch break in January 2025, our mutual friend Grant Allen (who happens to be both one of Zac’s best friends and Savannah’s childhood neighbor) decided to play matchmaker. He called Savannah and asked, “Do you remember Zac Cohen?” Her immediate response was, “Wait… Zac and Cheese?”—the nickname many of the fraternity guys had given him back in college. When she confirmed that yes, she did remember him, Grant followed up with, “Would you ever consider going on a date with him?” At the time, Savannah remembered Zac as kind, quiet, and genuinely funny. She also knew he loved Jesus, emo music, and Star Wars—and he came highly recommended by people she trusted. It seemed worth saying yes to a coffee date. The next day, Zac texted, and a few days later we met halfway between Memphis and Nashville in Jackson, Tennessee. What was supposed to be a simple coffee date on February 15, 2025—the day after Valentine’s Day—turned into hours of conversation, and by the end of it, neither of us was ready for it to end. Over the next eleven months, we became experts in driving I-40, taking turns making the trip between Memphis and Nashville nearly every weekend. Between coffee dates, road trips, concert-inspired travel adventures, late-night phone calls, and countless miles, it became clear we were all in. We built something that felt easy, intentional, and worth every minute spent on the road. On January 10, 2026, Zac proposed in Nashville, and Savannah happily said yes. Now we’re counting down the days until October 10, 2026, when we get to start our next chapter together. We can’t wait to build a life together in Germantown, Tennessee, and we’re so grateful to celebrate this day with all of you!!!
