To our dearest friends and family, We hope this finds each and every one of you well in these most turbulent times. To begin, it was our lifelong dream to share this most special of days with our closest friends and family. Essentially if you are receiving this, it is because we love you, care about you genuinely and cherish having you in our lives and we wanted you by our side to celebrate our wedding. Now the hard part. Due to the current government mandates shutting down the state because of the Coronavirus, it is with extremely heavy hearts and sadness that we must announce we will no longer be able to have the wedding we have been planning and have been looking forward to for so long now. The wellbeing of our loved ones is paramount to us and currently based off of the government mandates we are not allowed to have gatherings of large amounts of people. This has been very difficult and confusing for us to navigate and we did not come to this decision easily or by choice. We love you all and and want to keep us all safe and healthy. Now some good news. We are happy to report that we are still very much so madly in love and will not let this virus stand in the way of us starting our journey as husband and wife. Thus we are still getting married on June 6 in some capacity:) Hope for the future. As a new couple, we pray for a beautiful friendship with all of you. The sun will set on this virus, and a new day will arise in which we will all be able to gather and celebrate our matrimony together. We love you all so much and are praying for your health and safety. We will continue to update our website with photos and our story and any updates of a future celebration so feel free to check it out still So much love xoxo, Zac and Ruth
On one fateful and snowy morning nearly ten years ago in the mountainous region of Tahoe, a young man and a young woman would forever have their lives changed. A day of snowboarding and a chance encounter on a chairlift would lead to a high school romance so strong that it would turn out to last a lifetime. For that was the day that Zac met Ruth, and Ruth met Zac. Their story began with Zac tirelessly pursuing Ruth and Ruth relentlessly trying to avoid Zac. Local legend claims that Ruth stood Zac up on the first four lunch dates, yet Zac continued his daring pursuit, and eventually, Ruth ran out of excuses and was forced to go to lunch with him. A few mini-golf and ice cream dates later, Ruth and Zac were sailing down the river of young love... For about a year. Then as in most cases of young love, that sailboat careened into a sandbank, and Ruth and Zac drifted apart. Seven years they spent stranded at sea drifting further and further apart from each other. Though separated by distance and time, their hearts never grew apart and their love never ceased. Then on another fateful day in Auburn Ruth, and Zac ran into each other at the local farmers market, after not seeing each other for nearly seven years one date was all it took for them to re-declare their love for one another. Here is a direct quote from the encounter- “I thought about you everyday for seven years.” said Zac, “So did I.” replied Ruth. And that was that! They got back together, and the next day Ruth left Zac in Auburn to return to nursing school and thus began the long-distance relationship consisting of six hour drives across the grapevine and having to go months without seeing one another. Eventually, Zac made his way to LA, and the two were united at last. Zac proposed, and the rest is history. The wedding you are about to attend has been nearly ten years in the making!
