In Spring 2021, Zac’s online dating profile picture caught Casey’s eye because he was standing next to a big neon sign that read “Cimarron.” This happened to be the name of the street Casey grew up on, and that coincidence led to our first conversation. We met each other for a walk along the Charles River in Boston. Casey impressed Zac by bringing tea for their first date, without yet knowing how much Zac loved tea. We extended the walk as much as we could so that we could keep talking, then planned 3 more dates in the next week. We spent many early dates getting to know each other walking around Somerville, or as Casey’s Nana calls it, “the city of love.” And we have to agree. Many weekend getaways, national parks, concerts, cribbage games, ski trips, and new recipes later, we realized we had something really special, and that it kept getting better. While traveling, we serendipitously got a phone call that led to us getting our dream home. We couldn’t believe it! Before we knew it, Zac carried Casey over the threshold into their new home. We absolutely fell in love with our new life on the pond; the hiking trails, the birds, our row boat, and the seasonal changes. In Fall 2024, we became accustomed to hiking the trails around the pond almost daily. Zac found the perfect spot to propose to Casey on this trail, and with a ring ready to go, he planned to wait until the perfect day to pop the question. He couldn’t wait long, because the next hike we went on, Zac got on one knee on a small bridge leading to an island near their house... Casey cried.. Zac tried his best to retain his speaking abilities… and of course Casey said yes! We called our families and celebrated immediately. Now we think of that moment every time we cross that bridge. Shortly after, we had an amazing trip to Barcelona, London, and Marseille, where we celebrated the proposal and our future together. Lately we’ve been preparing for our biggest celebration, and we can't wait for you all to be a part of it!
