How We Met

What Are The Chances

It was the last day of both of our missions. I was half way home in the Georgia airport, and as I walked towards my gate, I noticed a large group of missionaries also apparently headed for home. I didn't think much of them as I sat down somewhere a little quieter and read from my scriptures. That is when Zac first saw me. It wouldn't be until Salt Lake that I would notice Zac. After getting lost for a bit, I managed to locate my gate and get settled for a long layover. As I waited, a young man walked past and sat across from me on the same row of seats. I had been craving to speak Spanish with anybody, so I immediately caught his attention and asked, "Where did you serve your mission Elder?" The news was good! Argentina! What followed was an amazingly easy conversation, entirely in Spanish, of everything under the warm July sun. I remember trying to decide if the conversation was turning flirtatious or not, and if that was okay seeing as we were both still missionaries. I settled on it being friendly, and that, if anything, it was great practice to quickly overcome the awkward RM stage of being home. As my flight departure approached, Zac asked me for my full name to find me on Facebook. It never crossed my mind that I would ever see this Elder again. At least, until two weeks later. After coming home, my Facebook had locked me out. I couldn't remember my password and it had been so long since I last logged in that I was being asked to prove it was me with photo ID. But while talking late one night with my best friend/cousin, I remembered Zac and decided I should try to find him. My cousin shot him a message with my phone number. It turns out he had tried every spelling of Ashlee Bowling he could think of in search for me, but with my account being locked, nothing had come up. He texted me the next morning and the rest is history. We thank you all so much for joining us in this fantastic journey of ours. We can't wait to see what other miracles lie in store for us.
