We recommend staying in Taneytown at Antrim 1844 as this is where the ceremony and reception will take place. We have a room block at Antrim, and you will need to call (410) 756-6812 and tell them you are with our wedding to book a room. Another option in Taneytown is Georges on York, a small bed and breakfast, about 10-minute walk from Antrim. Next best option for hotels is in Frederick, Maryland where we will host our welcome event on Friday night at the Delaplaine Arts Center. If you decide to stay in Frederick on Friday night, we will provide a bus on Saturday to and from Antrim 1844. A few options in this area include: - Visitation Hotel Frederick (new, traditional hotel, 10-minute walk to the welcome event) - Hollerstown Hill Bed and Breakfast (10-minute walk to the welcome event) - 10 Clarke Place (another bed and breakfast option, 10-minute walk to the welcome event) - Best Western Historic Frederick (7-minute drive to the welcome event) Taneytown is very close to Gettysburg, so if you are planning on doing any site-seeing, this would also be a great place to stay. There are many hotels in the area, but to narrow your search, we can recommend: - Lightner Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast (20-minute drive to venue, small and quaint) - Baladerry Inn (20-minute drive, another bed and breakfast option) - Hotel Gettysburg (25-minute drive, traditional hotel in Gettysburg town center) Washington, D.C. could also work for accommodations, just note that it is about a 1.5-hour drive to the wedding venue.
Baltimore/ Washington International (BWI) airport is the closest airport to the venue. Depending on your plans, Dulles International (IAD) or Ronald Reagan National (DCA) may be suitable as well.
The ceremony will take place outside in the rose garden at the Antrim, weather permitting! Cocktail hour will have indoor and outdoor space, and the reception (i.e. dinner and dancing) will be indoors, in the pavilion of the Antrim.
No registry for us. We have a beautiful home, already very full of things, and we do not want any more! The presence of our friends and family at the wedding is truly all we want. That being said, if you still wish to give us a gift, we will not turn away a contribution to our honeymoon fund!
Please feel free to reach out to either one of us and we will do our best to help out!
