In 1999, Robert went to visit his big sister NaTasha in Kirksville, MO where she was attending Truman State University. When NaTasha's line sisters came over to visit, a short redbone caught his eye. He shot his shot and Yvonne told him "Little boy please, go on somewhere". But his persistence eventually paid off. Fast forward to 2008 when Robert asked NaTasha to see if it would be okay for him to get Yvonne's address and write her. Yvonne, a glutton for attention, said it was okay and they sporadically wrote each other over multiple years. Out of the blue in early 2016, Yvonne told NaTasha "The next time you talk to your brother, tell him 'I know it's my time to write but I don't know what to say''. Robert had just about given up on Yvonne when NaTasha relayed the message. He told himself that he will write her one more time and if she doesn't respond, he would be done with her. Yvonne wrote back and eventually the two began having weekly phone conversations with each other where they often laughed and got to know each other on a deeper level. By November 2016 their phone conversations were becoming more frequent and their feeling for each other were becoming noticeably deeper. One day Yvonne asked Robert "What is your end game here?" Without hesitation, Robert replied "Til Death. You okay with that?" Yvonne answered "Yeah. I just wanted to make sure I was acting accordingly." Today, many attest to the love that exudes from this happy couple.
