Our original wedding date was 8.21.20 and we postponed the celebration to this year on 9.3.21 due to the pandemic. However, as most of you know, we still got married on our original date! We had an intimate ceremony in Kaelin's family home backyard. It was beautiful and we are grateful that we were able to still tie the knot. Now it's time to celebrate with all of you! We are still having a ceremony in which we will be renewing our vows, followed by cocktail hour and reception
I was a physical therapy student on rotation at Edward Hospital where Kaelin was working. We became friends and training partners in preparation to run a 10K in Chicago.
We had planned a vacation for early November 2019 where I really believed he was going to propose then... However, we had day date planned on Saturday, September 14th to go to the Adler Planetarium and out to dinner downtown. I was suspicious earlier in the day as he did not rush me out of the apartment as I tend to be late to most things. But, there was no ring box in his pocket so I did not think it was going to happen that day. After leaving the planetarium, we headed over to the waterfront to take a basic selfie when he bent over to fix his pants. SURPRISE - he hid the ring box in his sock underneath his pants! He got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever; and I said "YES!"
