I was looking for community, and I found one. And also my future wife. During the first couple of months after my move to LA, I found my church. I reached out to all the community groups that worked with my schedule at the time and I vowed, "the first one that gets back to me is the one I'm going to." Most groups were breaking for the holidays, but Yvonne offered to meet me and tell me more about the group she was leading. We grabbed coffee at Aroma Cafe on December 17th, and the rest is history. // Chandler
When Yvonne and I confirmed plans to visit her family in Vietnam, I knew that was where I wanted to propose. After the most nerve-racking Skype session of my life, I received her parents blessing, and the covert planning was underway. I never knew that everything could go so wrong, and yet so right at the same time... despite language barriers with the "secret" photographers (which turned out to be more like paparazzi), the videographer falling into the pool halfway through my proposal, and Yvonne's little siblings coming REALLY close to spilling the beans (ahem, Chloe), Yvonne said yes. The woman of my dreams said YES, and now I am looking forward to the best day of my life. // Chandler
